Andre Villas-Boas has urged Chelsea fans to throw their 'full support' behind the team after again offering his backing to misfiring striker Fernando Torres.
Chelsea suffered a third home defeat in four games in all competitions on Tuesday evening after losing 2-0 to Liverpool in the Carling Cup quarter-finals.
The Blues produced a lacklustre display in front of their own fans and Villas-Boas conceded that Stamford Bridge has become an 'anxious' place.
"Away from home we've been more solid statistically and as a team," said Villas-Boas. "At home we just haven't been good enough.
"We need to get our fans behind us and get the emotion right. You can feel Stamford Bridge has become anxious.
"We therefore need support. We need atmosphere to get us past this period.
"We have two big games at home where we need our fans behind us and I'm sure they'll do exactly that."
